Gotten a new system due to the old one being half dead. I though it would last a while longer but the ram keep giving me problem and I can’t work on photoshop using 1GB of ram.
New spec is E8400 with mild overclocking done to E8500 + Powercolor Play! HD4850 standby with Powercolor PCS+ HD4670 + Enermax Pro82+ 625W PSU unit + 2GB cheapo Kingston RAM + a Coolermaster to replace the old casing fan as it couldn’t cope with the heat from the HD4850. Down on the luck, the board crap out, 2 trip is needed to CDL to change for a new board. Kudos to Jon from CDL, it was fun xD during the RMA troubleshooting. I meant it, it was fun. Learnt quite a bit of stuff from there and a couple of insider news. Hear this, DO NOT GET WINDOWS VISTA!!! STICK TO YOUR OLD AND TRUSTY WINXP. There is a reason for this.
HD4850 is a power drinker. Nearly a 100w jump during load. (includes the CPU)
Reinstallation is a pain….
In a week plus time, EOY 2008 would be here soon!! As usual with all others cosplay event. I would be there with figu kakis.

It happen just so suddenly, I remembered the anime Byousoku 5 Centimeter and felt like listerning to the One more time, one more chance.
This afternoon I found out why my computer have been acting weird. It been resetting for no reason. I happened to touch the PSU case and found it was hotter than usual, and the second outblow fan is dead. Ouch……. Still runable, but won’t last long. Head down to SLS, and gotten a Enermax Pro82 625W. Only, when I reach home, I found out it was quite a overkill on my puny system. 5 years warranty it came with.
My old PSU is a Antec smartpower 350W which is just after its warrany period.
AFA08 is over. When it was announced, I was wasn’t that hyped up. Sure, another anime convention is good. My thinking is, there bounded to be cosplayers lurking around. Thats my objective. As time goes near. May’N is slated to be coming, another objective have been added to my AFA08 runs. Majority, it seem like a toy convention compared to a anime convention. I can conclude, Singaporean have not reach the level of "drive" that the Japanese had. I have not really taken much look at the booths except the toys counter, other than that, I was wondering around shooting cosplayers. Day 1 ended quickly with aniki concert. Despite, not knowing what he was singing. I could feel the vibes and mood throughout. "Tml May’N concert gonna rock big time"
Second day, was the main day. The concert. The whole day was a leg breaker. Little I know, I just happen to be at the moment where the VIP gates started opening. I got the first row VIP immediately after the Diamond holders. The distance between VIP and Diamond is like 2m!!? minus the autograph paper. But still not bad a location compare to others who watch my back instead. May’N singing was much better live than her recordings but the acoustic partly ruined it. The mood was high, but not as high as aniki’s.
The autograph session came as a shock but despite that it went off without much trouble. Still, a lot of debates have been going on for the autograph, but I am on neutral grounds. One thing that irks me is that, the 20 extra VIP -> Diamond holder have already been selected. Where is the transparency, and everyone I talk to in the VIP row was expecting a lucky draw.
It came down to the organiser not specifically clarifying whats and whats not to expect. The mood was tense during the autograph session and small disputes happened.
Overall, it ended up with me leaving the event with a bitter taste and 1400+ pictures to process………….
